![]() and Our Belief Concerning Prayer for the Dead The Armenian Church encourages the request for memorial prayers for the dear departed on the regular occasions of the yearly anniversaries of passing or on special memorial occasions. Typically, those who request Hokehankist/Memorial/Requiem do so accompanied by a free-will offering to the church. Some such occasions are Father’s or Mother’s Day; Memorial or Veteran’s Day for deceased servicemen/women, Merelots (the Sunday following a Major Feast Day) and other family milestone occasions. Memorial hokihankisd can not be offered on any of the major Feast Days of the church such as Armenian Christmas-January 6, Easter, Transfiguration, Assumption, Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Der Hyre is always happy to visit the cemetery following the Divine Liturgy and Memorial on the Sunday of the service, where and when possible. To request a Hokehankist or memorial, please contact the office, speak to a Parish Council member or fill in the form below. May God have mercy and illuminate the souls of the departed.
